Human Resources Manager
Referral bonus eligible. Know an attorney who would be great for this role? Refer them to a Fluency Legal recruiter. If they're placed, you may be eligible for a referral bonus of up to $5,000 (terms apply). Refer someone for this role
The attorneys and professional staff you support handle closely held business transitions, commercial real estate acquisitions, complex trust and estate plans, and employment disputes that land in state and federal court. They need an HR partner who can steady the room when a thorny personnel issue surfaces, design performance-management rhythms that actually stick, and keep compliance obligations from becoming distractions. You will oversee the full employee lifecycle for a single South Bay office, reporting to firm leadership and working alongside an engaged administrative team. This is an on-site role built for someone who listens carefully, writes a clean policy draft, and can coach a partner through a tough conversation without flinching.
What this firm is looking for
- 5 to 15 years of progressive human resources experience, with at least three of those years gained inside a law firm or a professional services organization
- Working command of California wage-and-hour rules, leave laws, and the compliance frameworks that govern a legal workplace
- Track record of handling employee relations matters with sound judgment, discretion, and a clear-eyed understanding of attorney personality and culture
- Demonstrated ability to draft and implement practical HR policies, manage benefits administration, and oversee recruitment pipelines for both legal and non-legal roles
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR/SPHR certification strongly preferred
