Clients facing IRS examinations, appeals, and collection disputes turn to this team when the stakes demand a meticulous advocate. You will handle federal and state tax controversies—from audit protests and administrative appeals to litigation in the U.S. Tax Court and federal district courts—for businesses, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals. The work emphasizes substantive tax research, drafting of protests and briefs, and direct negotiation with revenue agents. Expect to manage cases independently while drawing on seasoned partners who try cases to verdict.
What this firm is looking for

- Strong research and writing abilities, including experience drafting protests, pleadings, and motions.
- Demonstrated comfort appearing before the IRS, state revenue departments, or tax tribunals.
- LL.M. in Taxation strongly preferred; judicial clerkship experience is welcome but not required.
