The docket runs heavy on commercial and vendor agreements: negotiating data-licensing terms with foundational-model developers, structuring partnership deals for proprietary dataset access, and advising on M&A targets that expand the company's data-acquisition capabilities. You will also handle governance work for a marketplace platform that sits at the intersection of content rights, privacy, and emerging AI regulation.
What this firm is looking for
- 3–6 years of corporate or M&A experience, ideally split between a national law firm and an in-house setting
- Demonstrated capability in technology transactions, data rights, or IP-heavy commercial deals
- Familiarity with the regulatory landscape affecting AI training data, including evolving copyright and privacy frameworks
- JD from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing
- Willingness to work on-site at the San Francisco headquarters
