Workers' Compensation Litigation Associate
You will defend employers, carriers, and third-party administrators in workers' compensation matters from inception through trial, handling depositions, lien negotiations, and appellate briefing before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board. The docket spans construction, logistics, public entities, and hospitality clients across California. You will also step into Labor Code §132a discrimination claims and serious and willful misconduct allegations, often coordinating with general liability and employment colleagues on overlapping exposure.
What this firm is looking for
- 1 to 8 years of workers' compensation litigation experience on the defense or applicant side
- Active California bar admission in good standing
- Deposition and hearing experience, including comfort with medical-legal discovery and cross-examination of physicians
- Ability to manage a caseload independently while contributing to a collaborative, multi-office team
- Strong legal writing skills for petitions for reconsideration and summary judgment motions
