PhD-Level Biotech Patent Prosecution Associate
The biotech patent prosecution group is expanding its capacity to represent university spinouts, venture-backed startups, and mid-stage pharmaceutical companies through the full patent lifecycle. Work centers on drafting and prosecuting applications covering gene therapies, antibody platforms, and molecular diagnostics, with direct client contact from the outset. This is a hybrid role based in Los Angeles.
What this firm is looking for
- PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, or closely related field
- 0-3 years of patent prosecution experience at a law firm or in-house
- Admission to practice before the USPTO, or eligibility to sit for the patent bar
- Drafted and prosecuted at least 5 biotech patent applications preferred
- Ability to communicate complex science to examiners, inventors, and business stakeholders
