This Houston seat opened after a senior partner shifted to an of-counsel role, leaving a book of coverage disputes and excess-liency cases to redistribute. You would step into active matters spanning auto, CGL, and professional-lines policies, most in state court with some federal removal work. The docket runs toward disputes over duty to defend, policy exclusions, and bad-faith exposure—files that cycle through deposition, MSJ, and trial rather than settling early. Two days in-office, remainder remote.
What this firm is looking for
- 8+ years of insurance defense or coverage litigation experience
- First-chair deposition and motion practice in Texas state and federal courts
- Active ability to manage an independent caseload from intake through trial or binding arbitration
- Portable client relationships or insurer adjuster contacts preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Texas insurance code and bad-faith standards
