A California-focused management-side labor and employment firm
Late Shift Remote Legal Assistant
This position suits a legal assistant who thrives after the traditional workday ends, providing evening support from a home office in Southern California. You will prepare state and federal court filings, draft correspondence, manage discovery documents, and maintain case calendars for matters spanning wage-hour class actions, single-plaintiff discrimination claims, and unfair competition disputes. The work is detail-intensive and matter-paced, requiring someone who can move files forward independently while West Coast attorneys are offline.
What this firm is looking for
- 5+ years of litigation legal assistant experience, with significant exposure to California civil procedure.
- Proficiency with e-filing in California state courts and federal district courts.
- Demonstrated ability to draft and format pleadings, discovery shells, and routine motion papers from attorney instructions.
- Comfort working remotely during late-shift hours on Pacific Time.
- Experience calendaring deadlines and managing case files with minimal supervision.
